SARAH HAUER: Hi. I'm Sarah Hauer. SIG HAUER: And I'm Sig Hauer, and we're professional
practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine. SARAH HAUER: We're here on behalf of Expert
Village. SIG HAUER: And welcome to our video. SARAH HAUER: So, what happens with the needles
being retained, the amount of time that we usually leave the needles in is anywhere from
20 to 45 minutes. As the needles are left in longer, [PH] Ellen's body temperature is
going to lower, and she gets a nice endorphin release which helps with relaxation and just
really helps with the overall sense of well being. I'm sure everyone can relate to that.
And also, her systems, her organ systems are slowing, her respiration is slowing, and her
heartbeat is slowing down, helping her to sink into that deep relaxed state were her
chi can flow very freely, unobstructed, and nourish her organs and balance out any of
the problems that may be occurring. SIG HAUER: And normally, obviously, we wouldn't be standing
here talking over Ellen. We would be out of the room, allowing Ellen to rest by herself,
again, as Sarah said, about 20 to 45 minutes depending on what we see is needed. So, this
is--the treatments are designed for the patient. We're focusing on the patient, we want to
help a patient get better, and one of the ways we can do that is help the patient to
relax and feel good about their treatments, and get that deep, deep, relaxation; that's
so hard to come by in today's hectic life.
