Good Morning, Everybody!
[Good Morning, Pastor] How is everybody today?
Who would like to look inside
The Purple Bag this morning?
Elizabeth?
[Pastor Dave hands Elizabeth The Purple Bag]
Oh ...
Brendon thinks they're envelopes.
Maybe I should turn it ... oh, you're on the right side.
Do you know what that says on the first one, Elizabeth?
How 'bout if I hold it up and we can see what they say?
Can anyone think what
this one says? [A balloon] A balloon?
When might ... when might you give somebody balloons?
For someone's ...
William? [Birthday] Birthday!
What about this one?
[A heart] A heart!
What does a heart mean?
[Love] Love. Yes, that's an anniversary card.
Pastor made these. Aren't they wonderful?
That one says ...
Get well.
When would you send someone a get well card?
William? [When they're sick] When they're sick.
And this one says ...
Thinking of you. Yeah! Some day
you're thinking of someone and you send them a card.
Have you guys ever made cards to give to someone?
[I do] You do? William, when have you made cards
to give to someone? [Inaudible]
On your grandma's birthday? Brendon,
have you made cards to give to someone? [Inaudible]
On your cousin's birthday? Maybe for Mother's Day or
Father's Day you gave someone a card?
And made them a card? [Inaudible]
You made your grandma a card? What we're gonna learn about
in our sermon today is to make the most of
every opportunity to be able to tell people
that we love them; to tell people that Jesus loves them.
Just like when someone's having a special day you send
them a card ... for their birthday or maybe their
anniversary. Or if someone's sick, you send them a card to
make them feel better. And on all of those cards and all
of those occasions, we can use those opportunities ...
to also tell them that Jesus loves them. On their
birthdays, we can remind them that Jesus gave them life.
That gave them eternal life. Yes, Sophia.
[Inaudible]
[Inaudible]
On your mom and dad's birthday? Yes, you can remind
them that Jesus gave them life; on Conner's birthday you
can remind him that Jesus gave him life.
On your mom and dad's anniversary, you can remind
them that God loves them. [Inaudible]
That's right! So what we're gonna do today is remind
ourselves that when we think of people, 'Thinking of you'
we wanna remind them that we know ...
that we care about them, and that God cares about them
because He sent Jesus to take away their sins. Okay?
So you guys can go back to your moms and dads
and we'll join together in our Hymn-of-the-Day: Hymn 563.
