I think that's awesome.

>> I think it's great because they can come out and relate to each other,
you know, you are asking where you are from
or how many girls are in your classes
>> There aren't a lot of women in Computer Science
and more women don't get into it
because there aren't women in Computer Science.

>> The Google workshop for women engineers is a fantastic opportunity for Google
to support its mission,
which is to help educate and bring technology and science
to as broad a population as possible.
>> I really think we have the chance for making a huge impact.
Here we can make them feel good about what they have done.
>> It's so encouraging.
It's giving me a focus, what I have to do.
>> For me my passion is one day to be able to help people
and bring about technology to the young ones and the females.
>> I started at ninth grade with Visual Basic and I loved programming and I said:
this is what I want to do.
>> When I wrote my first program those two programs;
I could see, "oh my God, I can do this." I was just excited about it.
>> When you go into a typical classroom today
across the country and even across the world,
often times you will see under 25% of the class is actually female.
>> This is truly exciting to see this room so full of bright.
>> So to see a group of almost 200 women Computer Science students in one place,
it's really very inspiring.
>> The Thaikok's degree, I heard about the theory this morning.
I've learned a lot.
>> I definitely feel it's inspiring the female students here to go further in this industry.
>> I love how Google is supporting women in research
and to be here for this reason is just amazing.

>> This is a scavenger hunt
We ran around the city and got wet.
We were talking to random people and asking them questions.
>> We went around and did really embarrassing things,
and still it was pretty fun because we did them with very great people.
>> It's nice to be around women that are
not only in Computer Science but also meeting people
that are doing your specific area of Computer Science.
There's more people than the people I see every day. [Laughing]
>> It's a big opportunity for women to get in a field that is mostly men and I love it.
>> Algorithms -- that kind of stuff made me happy.
So -- [chuckling]
>> It's challenging, I'll tell you that.
It's very challenging but it's all worth it.
