Sergey Mikheyev, political scientist
It is too early to speak about it.
Firstly, the South-East has no candidate.
I think that a candidate of the South-East will eventually appear.
The opposition understands this, that is why they want the elections to be so soon,
although it is illegal and does not correspond with the agreement signed with Yanukovich.
It is said there that the elections should take place by the end of 2014 and after the constitutional reform.
But they set them on May 25, before the reform, so they want to act quickly to gain power.
That is why they are now placing their own governors so that they can take care of elections
or, to put it simply, to falsify them.
Experience of the elections in Ukraine shows that they have always been falsified.
Administrative resources were used in some regions.
I think that the new power wants to use it now as well.
Because it needs legitimization through a convincing victory.
And they can't have a convincing victory because of the division of the country.
That is why they will break people.
They will put pressure on them, they will falsify, they will put their governors everywhere in the country.
From those four candidates that we see today - Tyagnibok, Yatesnyuk, Klitschko and Timoshenko,
Timoshenko potentially has much more chances, it is clear.
There are many reasons for this.
First of all, she is more charismatic.
Secondly, she has more experience.
Thirdly, unlike those three men from the Maidan, she has a chance to fight for the South-East.
She had this experience.
And another interesting detail - Yatsenyuk, Klitschko and Tyagnibok now will fight for the same voter,
the same sponsor, this is very important.
In the foreign policy they have only one partner - the West.
While Timoshenko has experience of negotiating with Putin, negotiating with Russia.
She can say that she can improve relations with Russia and thus get some votes in the South-East.
So from those four Timoshenko has the best prospects,
but I repeat that it is too early to discuss it because we will probably see some new candidates, I think.
