Greetings Everyone. My name is CJ, And I Am going to be doing a Blind Wonderlocke.
And, uh, for anybody who isn't familiar with a Blind Wonderlocke its a variation of a Nuzlocke.
A Nuzlocke is when you play a pokemon game with two rules to add additional challenge
to the game to make it increasingly difficult to pass and succeed in beating the elite four.
And those rules are essentially these two: where you MUST capture the first pokemon in
any route that you encounter. If you fail to capture that one, you cannot capture any
other pokemon in that route. You can't capture any other pokemon in that route regardless.
So its sort of makes it more challenging because you have to just deal with whatever hand you're
dealt by the random number generator in the game; that decides whatever pokemon you encounter
first. If you fail to capture the pokemon, you-you're just stuck, there's nothing you
can do. You just have to move on to the next route and hope you get another pokemon. The
other rule on a Nuzlocke is if a pokemon faints in battle you have to not use it anymore;
its considered dead, or you have to box it. Regardless of however you see it, you can't
use that pokemon anymore, it can no longer be included in any battles. So, those are
the two basic rules that define a Nuzlocke. This is a Blind Nuzlocke, which means I have
not played pokemon X and I am not going to be using any Strategy guides, or looking up
any information on the internet about the aspects of the game that I don't know already
(so, anything new to - to pokemon X and Y is new to me, and we will be just exploring
this as best as we can as we go along). Its also a blind Wonderlocke, which means that
for every pokemon that I legally capture with the Nuzlocke rules, I perform a Wonder Trade
and take whatever random pokemon the Wonder Trade gives me. So I'm going to go ahead and
nickname all of my pokemon with -locke on the end of their names and that should be
pretty interesting, hopefully maybe somebody will get it and find this video and they'll
be like "Look! That's the pokemon, that's the one that I got!" So those are the basic
rules and I'm getting started here on this game, and you can just watch me get my first
pokemon as my starter - we'll see what the Wonderlocke trade decides for me there. I'm
playing through my phone, which I have set up on a little stand to try to provide stability
and keep it from getting out of focus. So, but the phone tries to auto-focus sometimes
so it gets a little blurry so when you guys can't see on the video, I can't see either,
heh, it makes it a little challenging. I'll pick a random nickname here, I don't thnk
any of them are very good and I don't wanna come up with one-another one. I'll just let
them call me something silly, that's fine. L'il G is good. And, I'm going to go ahead
and pick Chespin, cause I like Chespins, so hopefully somebody else will get my Chespin
and like that Chespin, too. Alright Cheslocke! I've decided to nickname it Cheslocke, yes.
Got my pokedex. [mumbles] training with pokemon...important mission from the Professor...Trevor is just
too serious...I have to give that letter to my mom...Lets just blast through this dialogue.
Alright, we're done with our errand for the Professor. But I have to give that letter
to my mom, before I do anything else, huh? Let's see about that... "You need two or more
pokemon in my party to do a Wonder Trade, huh? Go to the door! There we go. RPG habits,
to buy nice even numbers, hard to break! Alright, so I'm gonna have to do the first little route
over here - oh wait, there wasn't any grass there, oh, we're find then. Aaagh, I wanted
to do it with my Wonderlocke pokemon! Alright, well, we will just assume that this gets done
with whatever pokemon I get in the Wonderlocke as soon as I can capture one. Go Froakie!
And Cheslocke! Well, we'll level up somebody here. This is...not gonna be the hardest battle
since I have the type advantage and a type attack. I wonder if I have a potion in my
bag at this level? I didn't even go poking through any trash cans or anything: rule of
thumb is you always go poking through all the trash cans and all the cabinets and all
the everything, but I didn't do it. Alright, there you go, Froakie. I'm sure I'll see you
around. Alright, so I won my first battle, I didn't white out or black out or whatever
they call it in this version of the pokemon game. Excellent. And my pokemon are healed.
You...have a strange ability, girl. Hey, I have running shoes already! Woohoo! I got
my own pokemon! Yes I did. A love letter? Are you lonely at home, mom? ...In a Ryhorn
Race? Well, you have a Ryhorn, do you race Ryhorn? You're probably the most interesting
mother from any pokemon game that I have had. Oh- I didn't read that. Alright, and away
we go! Hello...I don't have to battle you, do I? Oh, good. Send-off, yay! By Ryhorn!
Awww. Dude, that's sooo cool! You can ride pokemon in this game!? Ah, that's the best!!~
Yes, I know my DS' batteries are getting low, DS. Just give me a few minutes, alright? Yes,
yes, got it. Let's see, who am I sending out? Oh, there we go. Guess I just couldn't be
in that one row or something. Its a Pidgey! Agh, I'm not gonna fight it. I bet I can just
use that. Usually, you can on the first route. And...we're good! Alright! Pidgelocke! And
away we go! Okay, so here I am, standing on Route 2, apparently I needed - I needed two
pokemon to do it. So. We'll trade away Cheslocke first. Hopefully someone loves you Cheslocke!
I'm really hoping that I get at least one pokemon that's like not level 1. Um, cause,
you know, It would probably be really easy to just trade a whole bunch of like, recently
hatched pokemon and people have been having this game for a while, so I'm hoping I get
something - Oh, Shun! Shuuun. From Shiga, in Japan, very nice. So, um, cause its a little
hard to train a level 1 pokemon, um, they can get hit really easy. Oh, look at that!
How cute. Yay! Dance, dance you silly spindlebird. Gonna Wonder Trade Pidgelocke away... So yeah
hoping for a - a level 5 or 6, will have to see what that - what that Spinda was. Ooh,
Sammy, in the United Kingdom! Whatcha gonna give me, Sammy? A weedle - A weedle! Haaa.
What level are you, Weedle? I will take good care of Weedle. You take good care of Pidgelocke.
Level 50, and level 4. Okay, haha, alright. So this'll probably be a little bit easier
than I was worried, but I've ot a female weedle, too, very nice. Both of them: females on my
team. Very good. Okay. I'll have to translate these Japanese symbols. Hahaha. Psych Up,
Double Edge, Flail, and Thrash. Poison Sting and String Shot, of course. So, I don't think
anybody hatched you with egg moves or anything like that. Very nice! Alright little Weedle,
little Spinda, that is it for the day. Well guys, I'll try to upload major videos of any
particular important encounters in the game: uh, Gym Challenges, Team encounters, rival
encounters, all that sort of stuff. Uh, and I'll post pictures that are little snapshots
of my progress as regularly as I can on my tumblr, BeCeejed.tumblr.com (or however it
works, I'll post a link to it in the notes at the bottom of the video). I hope that you
enjoyed it, and follow me on tumblr or subscribe here for further updates on this Blind Wonderlocke
of Pokemon X.
