Hi, I’m Noemí Carbonero Lea, I’m 20 years old, and I’m the Iberia Mayor of Málaga. And I’m going to show you a bit of my beautiful city.
We’re in Gibralfaro Castle, an old Moorish fortress, connected to a citadel called the Alcazaba. From here you get one of the most spectacular views over the entire city, including the bull ring, the port, and the piers.
Málaga’s Atarazanas Market was an old naval shipyard, originally from the Moorish Nasrid dynasty, with a stained glass window that’s iconic because it includes some of the city’s most important landmarks such as the cathedral and the port.
One of Málaga’s biggest pluses is that, as you can see, we’ve got a beach right downtown – you can take in the catedral and the Alcazaba, then come right over here for a dip, which is totally cool.
Well, it’s lunchtime, and we malagueños love our chiringuitos (beach stands) and the restaurants right along the beach. The most typical local dish is sardines on a skewer, grilled over wood.
When we go out partying for the night, we usually head for the Plaza Uncibay area, which has lots of bars, pubs, and dance clubs. There’s also Plaza de la Merced, next to the birthplace of Pablo Picasso, and yet another option is the upscale mall Muelle Uno.
Málaga’s not just about tourism, but also having a great time in general. So to come share it with us, just hop on an Iberia flight, and we’ll be here waiting for you.
