I am in Amsterdam.
So cool. Welcome to Amsterdam, here in Netherlands.
Good times. Enjoy the very beautiful Amsterdam sign behind
me. I didn't have to talk, I could have just pointed it and you
would know where I was, but I did my job.
Time for a bike ride through Amsterdam. I don't know how well
I am going to vlog on this bike. It's really scarry. It is so
interesting. That is a good word for it. The handle bars are so
high. My handle bars seem so low. I am still trying to. I don't
have a bell. I don't have a bell either. Oh, we got jibbed on the
bikes.
Every morning, we pour about 400 liters of milk into this tank
and then we put the temperature to 29 degees, otherwise we
would have a different kind of cheeze. When we have the right
temperature we add rennet an enzyme that makes a thick
curd. And then we wait 30 minutes and we cut the milk with a
special knife like this. They will rotate in opposite directions
Five minutes later, that is the result. The liquid part is called a
whey and the solid are the curds. We don't use the whey to
make the cheeze, but we can use it for cosmetics, baking
because it is very healthy, but the taste is awful.
Look at all those cheezes. All right. So many cheezes. This is
amazing. So yummy.
Goedemiddag means good afternoon. Can you please repeat
after me, goedemiddag Steve. Means good afternoon Steve.
I would like to show you how to make a clog, from start to the
end. I am trained by my dad. Training is 5 years. And now I can
make a pair of clogs in 1 hr and a half. Isn't that sexy?
You wear them with a fingers space in the back. That is
because it is very important. A lot of people buy them to small
and they hope they will stretch. That is not going to work.
You actually have to wear them with heavy socks to
compensate finger space
Pointy shoes, for the fishermen to stretch their nets between
these shoes and his hands.
Their wet and its heavy now. So when the shoes are finished
they need to dry for about 5 weeks. Outside under a roof, the
wind dries them and after 5 weeks they are waterproof. They
have to be sand it, inside and outside and then they are ready
for export.
Hot food vending machines. Actually I don't know how I feel
about this. It could be delicious, or interesting. What are those?
Are those peanuty beef spicy nugget burgers? My goodness.
What is this one? Cheezy specialty.
We are going into the Heineken brewery. Ya, we are. That is
really cook. I love Heineken. So good.
There is horses in this brewery tour. Were you expecting that?
No, I wasn't expecting horses.
So, this it is a little like wine tasting, only this is better. We are
going to drink Heineken. I guess you are really excited to get
your first beer of the day. At least I really hope its your first beer
or else you've got a serious problem. I'm going to try to turn you
guys into beer tasting professionals. I want you to know
everything about beer. If you put it up against the light you can
get a clear look at your beer. It is like the first time you drank
your beer, when you were 6 years old and you looked at it, you
looked at it like, Wow, this is amazing. Tell me what you see?
Foam. Very good. What else do you see? Yellowness. Did you
say yellow? No. We are very proud of our beer.
What color is it? GOLD. Exactly. It is gold when you drink it.
So the foam on top is very important. I will show you why. Put
your beer up under a light and look underneath the foam. What
is underneath the foam? Bubbles. That's right. Very good.
Now these bubbles, bubbles have one mission only, they want
to get out of the beer. They feel like they are trapped, and they
are because the foam they cannot get out. The foam prevents
them from getting out. So it stays fresh. Also the oxygen cannot
go in, so it will not oxidize, it will not warm up, it will not lose its
sparkle, it will not lose its fresh taste because of the foam.
