When they opened in NYC,
the owners didn't have much money
for decorating, but they attracted
a large clientele of cartoonists, due to their neighborhood location. In exchange for their
meals, artists would often draw their own creations on the walls. The Caricatures were
later duplicated by hand and each dining room in The Palm Restaurant Group now has hand-made
copies of the original drawings, which are each insured for half a million dollars!
I wonder what their drawings are worth now relative to their meals received?!
Under Wally Ganzi, this is a third generation family,
white tablecloth, restaurant business that has expanded from a single New York City restaurant to 28 locations, mainly in the US
and then to Mexico City and London. Nothing is taken for granted, every detail is honed.
In LA, they have two very popular locations, in West Hollywood and in Downtown. They offer
a convivial steak-lover place, great for celebrating with your loved ones those special events
like birthdays, weddings and anything else.
The ambience is friendly. It's perfect for a Happy Hour or just a light dinner or more.
They have an extensive Bar Menu with some favorite classics--order a few bites
with your drinks, and signature cocktails.
My favorite items include The Gigi Salad, The Signature Surf 'n' Turf with
Nova Scotia Lobster and USDA Prime-Aged Beef,
the Baked Clams with White Wine Butter Sauce, the Veal Martini, the delicious Salmon cooked-to-perfection and the best family-style
side of Creamed Spinach.
For special occasions, they have five private rooms
with samples detailed menus available online. They have convenient lunch and dinner hours that make those events so popular.
