Hi, today we're going to be showing you how to download, install and sign in to BusinessOptix
Author for the first time. Now the first step is receiving an email from BusinessOptix Support
in your inbox. You're going to follow the download link in that email and save the file.
Once the file has finished downloading, open the containing folder; it will usually be
in your 'Downloads' folder. Once you have opened your folder right click on your Author
folder and click 'Extract All'. Make sure you tick 'Show extracted files when complete'
then click 'Extract'. A window should then pop up with the extracted files and you should
see two files. Double click on 'Setup' and click on 'Run'. Then the BusinessOptix Author
InstallShield Wizard will run. Click on next, read the license agreement and then click
on 'I accept..'. Fill in your 'User Name' and 'Organization' name and choose whether
to install the application for just your user or for every user on your computer. Then click
next. Click next again and then 'Install' to begin the installation. Then click on finish.
Now you should find the BusinessOptix Author shortcut on your desktop. Simply double click
on the shortcut to open up BusinessOptix Author. Once BusinessOptix Author has opened, we're
going to go to our email and see that the next step is to save the attached 'settings.xbp'
file. To do so simply right click and click on 'Save As..' and save the settings file
in your downloads folder. Now we're going to go into BusinessOptix Author. On the Home
ribbon on the top we're going to click on 'Open', find where we saved the settings file
in our downloads folder, click on the settings file and click on open. The settings will
then have been imported from BusinessOptix Author. The next step is to click on Library
and click on the 'Work Online' button. Now we can sign in to our library. To sign in
we need our login details. Your login details will be listed in the email sent to you. Here
you can see your username and your password. Highlight and copy your password to make it
easier to enter and if you want to choose an easier password to remember you can change
your password once you have signed in.
