HOW WILL YOU MARKET MY BUSINESS? Another great question I receive from sellers
is “how will you market my business?“ Marketing methods are a huge differentiator
in the business brokerage industry. Many business brokers rely solely on one or several listing
services to sell your business. They post the information and wait for the phone to
ring. Not me. I develop an active marketing campaign tailored specifically for your business.
It always includes contacting fellow FBX and BBF intermediaries to discuss their buyer
lists generated from similar businesses for sale or that have sold recently. I also contact
PE groups, high net worth individuals, owners of similar businesses, recent sellers, and
buyers who have registered on websites. I use social media such as LinkedIn, Facebook
and Twitter to draw attention to your listing. Of course, I also engage in the passive marketing
approach. Your business is listed on all of the leading business sales websites as well
as our own FBX websites. I may also list it on select niche websites specific to your
industry. Through our agreements with BizBuySell your ads are picked up by over 140 newspapers
nationwide. Finally, if the seller is comfortable, my plan may include confidentially contacting
competitors, suppliers, customers and/or employees to gage their interest.
