Welcome back. As I mentioned in the previous movie, in this movie we'll be working on filters.
Now the first thing you'll notice about filters is that they are located
at the top of the Grid View mode inside of the Library module. The next thing
you'll notice is this: there are three different types of filters, Text, Refine, and Metadata.
I'll go ahead and click on the first, and that is Text. When I click on that
Text button, all of a sudden below that a contextual Text filter will appear.
Now this is pretty interesting. You can do a search for your images based
on a number of different fields: Filename, Title, Caption, Keywords, Metadata.
I'll go ahead and do a search based on the Filename. Next I'll select
Contains, and again we have a number of different options here. Contains, Contains All, Doesn't
Contain, Starts With, or Ends With. Well what I want to do is find this particular
file. Well I know this file is called corwig_03, so in the text
field over here I will simply enter in 03 and hit Enter or Return. It will then show
me any image that has those particular characters in the file name.
How cool is that? If I want to cancel out of this particular search, all I need to do
is click on this X in the text field and it brings things back to
normal. Now there's another way to work with this particular filter. What you
can do is click on the magnifying glass and from there you can choose different options.
So for example I can choose Keywords, and you'll notice that it will then
update this menu here. Also, I can choose Contain All, it will then update
this menu here. So there's two ways to do the exact same thing. You can either choose
this menu, or you can click on the magnifying glass and select the option
here.
