Hello and welcome to Cupcake Addiction's Candy Crush Saga Cakepop Tutorial where I'll be
showing you how to make this great cakepop that looks just like the Candy Crush Saga
app icon. Tools and equipment that we will be using
today: I'm just using a polystyrene block to rest
my Candy Crush Saga cakepop in. I've got a couple of zip lock bags.
A pair of scissors. I've got a cakepop ball. Now if you don't
have a great recipe to get your cakepop balls to this stage, ready to dip and decorate,
I will leave a link to our recipe and tutorial in the description box below
I've got some melted blue chocolate or candy melts.
Melted white chocolate. Melted dark chocolate.
Melted pink candy melts. A knife.
And a spoon. I've got a few sprinkles. In Australia, we
call these hundreds and thousands. But they're just brightly colored round sprinkles.
And a little tiny piece of wax paper or greaseproof paper.
Some red Jelly Belly jelly beans. So long as they're the small jelly beans, whatever
brand they are, doesn't particularly matter. I've got some orange Skittles. You can also
use M&Ms. I've got a couple of different options for creating our little, I guess, our little
sparkly jewel candy effect. But this option here is just a Nestle [morsel] or a chocolate
chip. And I've got a couple of lollipop sticks.
So let's get started. Now the first thing that we want to do is
prepare our cakepop ball. So you've got your regular round cakepop ball. We all know how
to get them to this round shape. And as I said, if you don't, I will leave a link to
our tutorial in the description box below. What you want to do is just take your hands
and just flatten it out. So you're just flattening it out into, I guess, a little bit of a disc.
Now take that and just smack it out on the bench once and then twice. So you want to
do both sides of that. You want to smack it down nicely. Now take your knife and we'll
just going to cut it into a square, so just cutting the 4 sides off. It's a little bit
smaller than a regular cakepop because we are cutting those little edges off. So you
will get more out of a cakepop mix. Now bear in mind, when you cut it, you are going to
drag the edges down a little bit. So make sure that you keep in mind where the front
and the back is. That's going to be the back of my Candy Crush Saga icon or app icon. And
this lovely, flat side here is going to be the front.
So we're going to pop that one off into the refrigerator for about 15 minutes until it's
really really firmly set and it's nice and hard. To save us time today, I've got one
here that I have pre-refrigerated. So there you've got your square cakepop. And as you
can see, when I push it, it doesn't push out of shape. So you really do want it to be quite
firmly refrigerated. Now I'm going to take one of those lollipop
sticks. And I'm just going to dip it into that blue candy melt. And we're going to insert
it into the bottom of the square. Now do try to be careful here. Make sure that you look
at it as you're inserting it because you do want to insert that stick as in line as possible.
I've found with some of mine, they ended up a little bit wonky on the top of the stick.
So just wipe off any excess so you that you've got a nice, thin seal and not that big, thick
seal that we would normally have. And we're just going to pop that off to the
side. I would normally pop it in the fridge but today because I know it's quite cool,
I'm just going to let the chill of the cakepop square refrigerate it and set that little
chocolate seal for us. Alright, now I'm going to show you two different
ways that you can make these little gems or these, I guess, the little colorful balls
that are on the logo. One of them is just taking a regular chocolate chip, popping it
into the microwave for 30 seconds. Now that chocolate chip is designed to hold its shape
under intense heat such as when you put it into the oven. So it's not going to completely
melt but it is going to get wet and wet enough for you to be able to sprinkle your sprinkles
on top. They will stick to it. Put it in the fridge let it completely set. That's how I've
prepared these two. The other way that you can do this is take
a little bit of greaseproof paper. And I'm just going to dip a lollipop stick and literally
just pop a bit of a blob melted dark chocolate unto that piece of paper. And look, it pretty
much resembles one those chocolate chips if you look at it. And then take some of your
sprinkles and just sprinkle them on top. And pop them off into the fridge to set. So that's
the second way that you can make your nice, little gem-shaped, I guess, candy, your gem-shaped
candy for your Candy Crush Saga cakepop. Alright, so I'm happy now that this seal is
going to have set, as I mentioned, that wall is nice and cold. So it's time to dip. And
you can decide here. You can see here, I've made mine double sided. So if you want to
put the candy on both sides, you can or if you do want to have it on one side, it's completely
up to you. So I'm going to take my blue chocolate or
blue candy melts. And I'm going to give them a nice stir just so that there as fluid as
they can possibly be before I start dipping. And then I'm going to take my cakepop. I'm
used to saying cakepop ball but it's not a ball at all today, it's a square. So take
my cakepop, dip it in. and when I tap this one off, I just want to tap it sort of on
one side, and then flip it over, and on the other side. And that's just going to help
us retain that lovely square shape. Alright, now don't go too crazy on the tapping
and all those sorts of things because you do want to sort of attack this one while it's
reasonably wet. So I'm going to take one of my Skittles and you want this as centered
as you can. I'm going to take my... I actually really don't know what to call this. In Australia,
we'd call it the freckle. It's a name of the candy over here that looks very much like
that but I'm not sure that they would call it on there. See there I'm just positioning.
So I've put down the Skittles first. Then I've popped down my little sparkly one and
then the jelly bean is really just overlapping a little bit.
So turn it around, we'll do the same on the other side -- Skittle, little jewel, and make
sure that you don't have the Jelly Belly logo showing, and pop down that jelly bean. So
now we want to let that completely set and then we'll come back and we'll do the edging.
Alright, so I'm happy that my little blue coating there is set. And this is a little
bit optional. So the actual Candy Crush Saga app has this kind of pink and white striping
around the sides but it is quite time-consuming to do. It's not hard but it is time-consuming.
So you can just leave it there and you've got your Candy Crush Saga candy cakepop or
you can take your zip lock bag. Now I preferred to do the white chocolate
first. So I'm just going to take a lollipop stick and just use that to give my chocolate
a little stir and dip it into the bag. So you want to take your zip lock bag and just
cut a nice little tip off the end, not too crazy thin but also don't go too thick so
you want to be able to have a little bit of control over it.
And we're just going to pipe some lines on to the top. So with these lines, you want
to make sure that they come just slightly over the front of either side so that you
can see them when you look at the cakepop front on. And you want to pipe them at the
same distance apart, with enough space in the middle to come back and do our pink lines.
Alright, as you get down to the bottom, you just want to do 2 little half stripes just
on either side there so you've got... It doesn't have to be particularly neat but you sort
of got your white stripes going all the way around the outsides of your Candy Crush Saga
logo. So pop that up in the polystyrene block to dry. And pop in some pink.
If you love this tutorial, make sure that you head on over to our My Cupcake Addiction.
We've got lots and lots of tutorials. We upload several times a week and we would love to
have you drop by and see what else we're coming up with in the world of cupcakes and cake
decorating. And if you're already subscribed to my channel, I hope you like this tutorial
and thanks for subscribing. So once again, we're just going to do the same thing, just
cut off a nice, little tip, little bit of a piping bag, and we'll go and fill in all
of those gaps. When you do come to filling in the gaps, it's
not going to be quite as easy as when you did your first ones but you are going to have
a bit of a guide. So you just take the tip of your piping bag and just sort of almost
push it down. You can even take your finger and just run it along the top. So it almost
perfectly fills in that little gap and that's going to give us that really nice stripe effect.
And you can also just pop the other side and just sort of rest your fingers up against
it just to make it quite nice and neat as you look at it from the front on view.
And then just [pipe] in right in there [of that stick], and smooth it off.
So there you have your Candy Crush Saga app logo cakepop. Try saying that ten times fast.
And warning: this is highly addictive as with the app game itself.
Thanks very much for watching. I hope you love this cakepop.
