Ageless Living 4 - Reclaim Your Power
Hi this is Jim Donovan, I am the author of "Don't let an Old Person move into Your Body,"
and if you have been watching the series of videos, we have been talking about challenging
the myths of getting older and aging.
You know this is different, aging is biological. Getting old is a state of mind as far as I
am concerned. You can change that and we talked about getting passion. Becoming passionate
about something in your life that is going to pull you out of bed in the morning and
get you going into your day because you need things to look forward to, we talked about
creating a vision, a compelling vision for an amazing and dynamic future. What do you
want to make the rest of your life look like? And we talked about challenging the beliefs
that are getting in your way with a couple of more pieces and one of them, one of the
really big ones is power.
Okay you need to reclaim your power. You need to reclaim your emotional power. You do that
with quiet time in prayer and meditation and reading books and listening to audios like
this and watching videos and you need to reclaim your mental power and your self talk. You
control what you put into your mind. You control what you let other people put into your mind
and use affirmations and use all of the different tools that are in "Don't let an Old Person
move into Your Body."
And lastly you need to have physical power and this is a whole piece in itself that I
will do it at a time in the future. Basically, you require, it requires exercise. You know,
you may not be living perfect health. You may have things going on in your life right
now that you can't change, but there are plenty of things you can. That is why I love this
serenity prayer. "God Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage
to change the things I can" and here's the important piece of that, the wisdom to know
the difference.
Okay look at what you can change in your physical health. Exercise, learn about nutrition. Learn
about what is going on out there. Learn about the products that are there in the market
that will help you maintain your mental capacity, your physical capacity. Talk to your family
doctor, but then go look for others, look to other sources, because no one person has
all the answers.
It is like putting together your physical program. In "Don't let an Old Person move
into Your Body," I talk about five or six different doctors. I have links in the back
of the book to many of different doctors that are on the leading edge of longevity medicine,
anti-aging medicine. That is a big piece. You have to reclaim all of your power and
tune in next time, we will talk a little about finance because like I said in the book you
don’t have to eat dog food unless you want to.
