Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Colorado we'll be test fitting the Thule T2 Platform Style
Bike Carrier, part number TH916XTR. Now we've already gone ahead and installed our bike
rack into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and install our anti-rattle bolt so our
bike rack is secured to the vehicle. We'll now go ahead and give you a few measurements.
Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 15-1/2 inches and from the closest point of the bike
rack to the back of the vehicle is 4-1/2 inches. We can now go ahead and pull our platform
down and attempt to open the tailgate. And as you can see, we can open the tailgate completely
with this bike rack. We're now almost ready to load our bike. We'll
need only to extend the front wheel clamp and make sure that our rear wheel strap is
out of the way. We can then place the bike into the wheel mounts and bring our front
wheel clamp up, clamping it just in front of the front brake caliper of our bike. We'll
then move to the rear wheel where we'll put the strap through the wheel and secure it
on the other side. And there you have it.
