Oh, hi there and thank you for tuning in to "What's Your Problem" where we tackle your
workplace training problems one email at a time.
Now today we've got a good one for you.Lets see
what they've got to say. Dear Tim, I'm a new sales manager
between you and me I don't really know what I'm doing. Help.
Signed Top Sales. Manager? Well hey there sales manager. I assure you that you are the tops.
Just admitting that you could use some help is the first step, right?
Right. So you could sell. You could sell so well in fact that they promoted you
congratulations buddy.
Too bad you spend more time filling out paperwork and forcing people to update
your CRM the actually using your
awesome selling skills, huh? You know too often this is the case
companies promote the top-seller but the fail to give them
any sort of Management Trainee and then they bog 'em down so much paperwork
and administrative tasks that they could actually be
losing money. Because their best seller isn't out in the field anymore.
You know sales management shouldn't be sink or swim. The average tenure of sales
manager today
is 18 months. For you to succeed training
and coaching are required just like they are for the top sales rep.
In fact it might be even more important than sales team training.
You know as the manager you there to guide the team, to answer questions to find out what
motivates them
Reps are often only as good as their managers. A mix of
coaching, elearning, executive book summaries
thought leadership blogs and custom videos are great tools
for managers to keep your team focused on thinking and doing the right things
now to keep the entire team on track you need to integrate efficient
communication processes
and targeted performance improvement that meets the needs
of your sales team and yourself. To be the best sales manager
you have to have the best tools to manage, track and train your team.
It is in your company's best interest to provide you
with what you need to be successful. No only will it benefit you
and your team it will benefit the bottom line.
Well, that's it for today. Thanks to our good friends
at ej4 for providing the knowledge, the learning tools, the coffee that
make the show possible. As always I'm Tim I wanna know
What's your Problem.
