Luis Cesar Segura lives in Encalilla, a place located 15km away from Amaicha del Valle
His belief in Pachamama gave him the strenght to start building his house underground looking for a greater connection with the nature.
It's been a long time ago from the Conquest to the time we were practicing those things during that time,
the time when the system of life is totally different from now. When the people where connected with the escense of the things.
It has been 3 years when I started to dig and I don't know why I focus to that side.
My idea is to do my house well done, safe, of course, underground.
I don't know why I started here, because I was not sure where to begin.
And one day I was standing here, and I was digging I found this root, look there...
(I thought that was you putting that there)
Noooo... it's a root from the tree, that is the connection I feel.
Since 3 years ago since I started digging, I always had the need to get inside the earth,
to feel that feeling, the energy, and I feel it, I feel good and I'm ok.
And there is where I sleep.
Once I felt an earthquake, I sleep over leather of Llama on the floor.
I felt at my back something like dddddddddd... like that...
Look this small plant here, is growing here at 3 mts underground.
Here is the life, the strenght of the earth.
Since the colonization everything has changed a lot. Even the religion, now people goes to the church.
They practice another religion which is not the originally one.
But always I have my believe and respect to the earth, rites, and that things we no longer practice that much.
Respect to the earth and the pachamama.
I don't know what a hell he is talking about here.
Something like the Spanish conquerors gave the land back to the originally people? I never heard something like that ever.
Do you know that Amaicha was an aboriginal village? (yeah, of course)
My grand grand father was a Cacique, a man who was really close to the earth and his people.
A very big man.
From there to there you have 2 aboriginal villages, the Quilmes & Amaicha.
All the tomatoes I have has nothing quimic. For one side you are eating healthy,
and for the other, I'm not contaminating the earth. Everything is organic.
There is something that I put water and vinegar and with that I fight against the fungus.
Lari la... lalalalalaaaaaa (Me: I think he smokes something heavy and very natural of course hahahaha)
You can sleep in a fetal position, and you feels the Mother Earth is holding you.
And I had to do it, a place to sleep. Besides that, I had that good feeling with the earth.
Before coming here, there are places with natural caves and I slept there.
One of the favorite foods of goats.
Always people come and go, but yes, I'm alone most the time. Almost alone, with the dogs, goats, birds etc.
It's amazing, i.e. during the night, I hug that tree and with my ear,
and I can feel it blood vessels, the pumping of it heart. It life.
The Pachamama is not only a figure, is the earth it self, and if we take care of her, nothing will happen to us.
