The holm-oak forest/dehesa open-woodland ecosystem is a natural environment where COVAP’s associates
carry out sustainable, multifunctional farming.
Livestock farming here includes all aspects of rural development, keeping farming alive,
caring for the environment, animal welfare, optimal conservation of dehesa resources,
and product quality and security.
Sociedad Andaluza Ganadera del Valle de Los Pedroches (COVAP) brings together farmers from the Pedroches
Valley in Cordoba, the Serena Valley in Badajoz and the Alcudia Valley in Ciudad Real,
as well as farmers from Huelva province who are associates in the Ovipor cooperative.
With their professionalism, the more than 15,000 members that make up the cooperative not only act as the driving
force in our rural area by also, thanks to their environmental actions and concerns, genuine bringers of life.
