I'm Jay Finegold and I'm
co-owner of kid biz and
the biz with my wife Janet.
I love the people here.
They're very friendly when my
kids come in they're open with them, they'll help them shop.
When you enter the store as a
kid here at KidBiz I'll
offer you a complementary balloon, which
is super fun to walk around and shop with.
Also used as a tracking device for the parents to see the kid around the store.
What do you love about this store?
Do you love the glasses?
Yes!
And Mr. Finegold and the balloons?
Yeah, and what do you love?
I love balloon.
For someone like me whose
wearing a lot of hats.
In a small business it's generally,
I need time savers.
And Printing with PrintPlace,
it's a one stop
shop where all I
have to do is upload the
artwork, upload our customer
list, and, and off it goes.
we, we do business.
the old fashioned way.
We sell to our
customers who are our neighbors and our friends.
At KidBiz we a lot of familiar faces.
We see a lot of neighbors and friends.
Highland Park and the
Park cities highly support our company and our establishment.
i think shopping locally is important
because it supports local families
local, it keeps mone withing the community
rather give the money to people
we know and love and trust.
we trust the products, we trust the service.
one of the ways we advocate
shopping the local community is
a program by American
Express called Shop Small
and Small Business Saturday.
We participate in small business Saturday by
putting in our email blasts to
our customers on our
social media, Facebook and
Instagram, and also but we'll
put it on our postcard that
we send out that time of the year to promote shopping.
Postcards are maybe an
old fashioned way of doing
things, but they are still very effective.
We use social media quite
a bit, but there's nothing
like a postcard to stay around for a week or so.
And it also tends
to be a very good a reminder
for that customer to come into
the store for whatever the
reason that the postcard promotes.
And we plan come out shopping
at KidBiz on small
business Saturday to buy different holiday
clothes for the kids and
security blankets for the new baby. And sort of just get set for the season.
