What are the signs of baby's gender during pregnancy?
If you don't have morning sickness, it isn't more likely to be a boy. If you have morning
sickness so bad you're in the hospital, it is much more likely to be a girl.
I'm glad I don't have that gender indicator to worry about. But I heard there were physical
indicators that I could use to know whether it is a boy or girl.
Sonograms are good enough to start picking baby clothes by.
They are wrong about five or ten percent of the time, more so if you're earlier instead
of later, but later the baby may have its legs curled around the body so you can't tell.
What about the way I carry?
You can't tell if it is a boy or girl based on your current dimensions, since babies do
flips for weeks before settling head down.
So carrying high this week doesn't mean it is a boy because I could carry low next week.
And you'll look like a football wedge between your hips and ribs in the mean time.
What do you think of pregnancy acne as a sign of having a girl?
A girl isn't going to steal your beauty when she doesn't even have hair and may still be
growing finger buds. And food cravings only indicate health, not gender.
I know lots of cravings for sweets are bad.
It is the severe thirst and sweet smelling urine that indicate diabetes, while indulging
in too many sweets lead to unhealthy weight gain but don't mean you're having a girl.
I've heard that craving red meat means you're having a boy.
No, just anemic or short of protein. However, if you were a carnivore before you got pregnant,
the odds are slightly higher you'll have a boy.
No, normal odds are like 51% for a boy, but vegetarianism is read by the body as stress
and starvation, so your odds become 52% for a girl because boys need more nutrients.
If you are having a normal sized baby, it is as likely a boy as a girl. If you are much
bigger than normal, you are either having twins or a ten pounder due to hormonal imbalances
or a boy.
I don't know which of those to dread more.
Don't do those stupid pee on chemicals test; you won't know if you're having a boy or a
girl that way unless chemical burns down their trigger early labor.
OK, that's definitely something to avoid.
If you do the sonogram, you'll have your best indicator short of an amniotic fluid test.
I don't want to do the genetic testing that way due to risk of miscarriage.
That risk is low.
They check the baby's heart rate regularly, and I've heard that the baby's gender could
be predicted that way.
It is more science than which way you pick up a key or a ring swings on a ribbon, but
that 140 beats per minute mark doesn't indicate the baby's gender. Otherwise, the baby flips
genders when you hear a car alarm or think you lost your phone.
I've had all the dreams about the family I want.
What you dream about isn't a sign of what the baby actually is, just what you want it
to be. But wait a few more months, and that screaming bundle of joy will enter reality
and give you a definite answer.
