So the pressure release valve just popped.
which means that the pressure is at 150 psi, and that’s how loud the turbine is.
And there goes a tree falling at the neighbors next door
Doing a little bit of logging,
Hopefully they’ll make some wood chips so we can drive the turbine with them.
So the turbine is really quiet, it’s slightly out of balance.
That will dial in and reduce the vibration.
And the sound level though is really quiet without any noise suppression yet.
The seals are not in yet. so most of the steam power is blowing by the rotor and not generating power.
I’m going to guess this is up at around 15,000 rpm now, this is at 150 psi.
The sound level is now a little louder than my 4 inch duct fan.
If I can come around here safely you can hear that.
It’s all working real well.
I’m ready for putting the seals in, and then insulating, and then hook it up to an alternator and start making electricity.
