[MUSIC PLAYING]
-When I first thought about buying a motorcycle, there are
a lot of things that I had to consider.
I'd say the most important thing is understanding how big
of a bike you really need.
I can get 100 miles to the gallon on my moped, which
makes it a great economical choice.
It's perfect for commuting on smaller streets.
It only goes about 30 miles an hour though.
There are parts that you can get for it that actually make
it go quite a bit faster.
Those parts can get it to go probably
about 50 miles an hour.
These parts aren't that expensive, and they're really
easy to find on a site like eBay.
The pros of having a bigger bike, obviously you can get
outside of the city.
You can get on the highway.
You don't have to worry about not being able to
keep up with traffic.
On the other hand, a smaller bike like a moped or a scooter
is much more easy to operate.
Now this varies by state to state, but another thing to
really consider is the licensing that
you're going to need.
For example, in the state of New York, to ride a smaller
bike like a moped, I don't even need
a motorcycle license.
A typical driver's license will be just fine.
Weigh out your options.
Understand the place you live.
Understand your commute.
There are pros and cons to having both.
Just find out what you need, and either one could
be great for you.
