What's the most important issue to you this election season?
Well, I think by far the most important issue is the economy. Uh. . I think it would turn around if . .uh . .
there were more cooperation in Washington. I think the President hasn't had much of a chance
to implement his agenda and until he gets that opportunity we won't see much improvement in the economy.
Do you think the political system is broken? If so, how would you fix it?
Not broken, I'd say it's collapsed. It's . . uh . . the worst I think in my lifetime and . . uh . . and I think it's disgraceful
what's happened to our political system. I think that . . uh . . money has really corrupted.
Everything is for sale. Uh . . it's a pay-to-play system now. It's never what the founders intended
and so the . . uh . . the . .the fix is to get the money out of the system and I think that one of the worst
decisions the Supreme Court ever made was Citizens United. We're not even disclosing who's giving money now,
massive amounts of money, and I think there are some excellent proposals right now to . . uh . . uh . .
reduce the impact of "big money" on our elections. And I think that's the solution because I think that's what makes for
the great division in the atmosphere, rancid atmosphere. It's a competition for money.
Are you hopeful about the future?
Well actually, I am. I'm hoping that we'll have a . . uh . . uh . . an election that brings about
some real change in the political composition of who represents us in Washington.
Uh . . I think that . . uh . . divided government is really a big problem so hopefully we'll see . . uh . . uh . .
an election that gives the President who I think's done a very good job the support he needs in Congress
to enact an aggressive agenda to fix the economy.
