Quentin Nickmans, CEO of Mailjet, I am 35 years old,
a father of two kids, 2 boys. I am married.
I'm from Belgium, I live in Bruxelles and I was born there also.
and I have been working for a few months,
a few years now with quite a lot of entrepreneurs and colleagues in France.
Mailjet is a cloud-platform to send your e-mails.
Having worked in groups like BCG,
you spend sometimes long hours
to do what we call intern politics
that means that you need to go and talk to different people to convince them to take a decision:
when it makes sense, it make sense.
You should not be expected to simply please people.
I am against these kinds of things, it is not possible, I am wasting my time.
I was lucky to work in a lot of big groups, I had the chance to work with very intelligent people,
but I am not in my element in a big company:
it doesn't go fast enough, it is not clear enough,
it is not honest enough as a philosophy.
We need to know 3 things,
« do, dump or delegate ».
So do it, dump the task or delegate it.
But what you can't do is try to do everything.
Yes you can do it but you will work 100 hours a week
and unfortunately you will fall in a deep hole after 6 months.
