The number one thing we hear is,
My loved one hates 12-Step, and they'll never do it.
And I wanna preface this by saying
12-Step is not the end-all, be-all.
And it is the most popular and effective
if done the right way.
I haven't seen the 12-Step program fail
for people who have honestly worked it.
Any time somebody relapses,
you don't hear them say,
I did everything they told me to do.
I worked all 12 steps.
I sponsored people.
I went to meetings.
I had a sponsor.
I followed my therapist's recommendations.
I did everything they told me to do,
and I ended up in an alley with a crack pipe.
You don't hear that.
They stopped doing what they were supposed to do.
Sure, they may have gone to meetings,
they may have had a sponsor.
They may have done a couple of steps.
But if they literally worked the program,
I have never had anybody literally buy into
the 12-Step program, work it effectively,
and say they hate it.
