It's such an honor that Mars Petcare has decided to choose Fontanel to do their sensory trail
here.
It's 2.3 miles of beautiful hiking trails, now even more beautiful because of Mars Petcare.
And it's such a dog-friendly property.
Dogs come and they swim in the creek
and that's what this property is built on, is animals and pets and
my family broke ground on this property in 1987, so here in 2013 it is a dream come true
to see this going on today.
Our team's been planning for at least a month. A couple of guys have been doing woodwork
in the background on benches
and planning this for the best part of a month.
Some of the team have been out here over the weekend, on Monday and on Tuesday and the
bulk of the team has come on Wednesday to get all the main structures going.
It's been quite a lot of work.
So we came up with a concept of a bench in the shape of a dog bone.
The benches themselves were built in my basement.
We're using some really nice cedar.
We edged the doors and glued them together and cut them out in the shape of a dog bone.
We sanded them and put a nice little finished edge around them.
It's great when you can share your passion of pets. As a company, that's our passion
and being able to share that with the general public.
So hopefully as folks are walking around the dog park they get to enjoy the benches.
The owners and pets are one, so with the owners seeing what we did here, and as far as the
aesthetics are concerned, the pets are going to love it too.
As far as the trail, exercise, getting out, walking around, walking this trail it's going
to be awesome.
The platforms will give the hikers an area where they can get off the muddy trail, take a
rest in a nice shaded area.
It really enhances the trail.
It's a sense of satisfaction for us. Good team of guys here, working on it, everybody's
having fun.
You walk away feeling like you've made a contribution. You've put something in place that somebody
can enjoy, that's a different day than your normal working life and really enjoyable.
The Mars Pedigree sensory trail here at Fontanel would be impossible to complete without these
volunteers and without Mars Petcare on our team.
They have worked endlessly, day after day, month after month to get this incredible project
completed and I just can't wait for all of Nashville, and all of the world to see this.
