Highlight text to annotate it

The last Word 2010 skills we will explore in this video are correcting errors and revising
a document, changing document properties, and printing a document.
On page WD 44 in your book, you will find three main types of changes made to documents.
They are additions, deletions and modifications.
First, let’s make an addition in our document. Inserting text can be achieved by placing
your cursor in your document and typing the desired text.
Deleting text can be done several ways: placing the cursor in front of the text and pressing
the delete key on the keyboard, placing the cursor after the text and pressing the backspace
key, or highlighting the text and pressing either of those two buttons.
Moving text can be done by highlighting the desired text, then left-clicking and dragging
the text to the new location and releasing the mouse button.
Now let’s look at changing document properties. Page WD 49 in your book tells us that the
document properties are details about the file such as the author and title which help
us organize and keep track of our files.
To change a document’s properties, click on the file tab, select info, select properties,
then select Show document panel.
The Document will most likely place the author with the user name, or business name. Here,
let’s add our names.
Next let’s put the class name in the subject.
Now when you close the file and navigate to the location of the file in windows explorer,
you will see the author listed at the bottom of the page when the file is selected. Right
clicking on the file and selecting properties, then details will reveal the rest of the document
properties.
Finally we will print a document. Note that you will not need to print any documents for
this online course. All of our documents are submitted electronically through Blackboard.
This information, rather, will be useful when you need to print for another course, a job,
or any other situation in which you need a printed document.
To print a document, simply click on the file menu and select print. Here, you will see
a preview of your document on the right. If it looks satisfactory, choose the number of
copies to print here and the printer here. If you have a printer connected and installed
on your computer, you should see it listed here. Refer to your printer’s setup guide
if you do not. Finally click the print button.
This concludes Word Chapter 1.
