Hi! I am Jason Wyatt head golf professional here at Sunningdale Golf and County Club.
On behalf of ExpertVillage.com, I am here to show you lefties how to putt better. Just
a reminder again that I am a right-handed player, it is great because when I instruct
my lefties we are a mirror image of each other. Putting is very crucial, this is probably
the most important stroke in the game and the most improved stroke that you can make
during your practicing. You practice a lot, you are going to see a lot better results
especially with your score. When I set up to a putt, I would like to see that putt ball
right in the middle of our stance like of all of our other shots, so we always start
from the same position. We are going to take a small step forward, little bigger step back
and just like chipping, we are going to put all of our weight on the front foot, okay,
once you got all the weight on the front foot, now once again we have got a triangle made
with our arms and with our shoulders, okay, once we have got that, now we have got to
rock that triangle, once again just like chipping, we do not want to see people breaking their
wrists, we see that a lot with amateur golfers. Set up follow forward stance, and it is going
to rock your shoulders back and forth. Now one of biggest thing is people get their shoulders,
they start moving with their arms, make sure it is your shoulders, your big muscles that
move the putter blade back and forth and also make sure that when you make the putt, you
keep your head down, I like to listen for the putt to go into the hole, so I set up,
make the stroke, do not move my head and listen for it to go into the hole. If you use these
tips, you will putt a lot better.
