The Civic Hatchback, just as in the previous generation, possesses a futuristic design.
The grey section in the front of the car and the daytime running lights with LED technology draw attention.
Due to the ascending shoulder line and due to the hidden back door handles on the C column
the Civic Hatchback is perceived as a coupe when examined from the profile.
At the rear, taillights corded together at the middle of the rear window create a difference.
The interior of the Civic Hatchback, as its exterior, possesses a futuristic design.
In front of the driver oriented asymmetric cockpit, an analog tachometer and behind it a digital speedometer is situated.
Access and usage of the music system, with simple buttons on the mid console and A/C commands underneath it is easy.
For your small items, places next to the handbrake and inside the armrest are offered.
The front living space is comfortable.
At the rear good knee room but due to descending roof, only reasonable headroom is offered.
The boot of the Civic Hatchback with 407-liter loading capacity possesses the best value of this class.
Furthermore with wide opening lid you are able to load even big cargos easily.
Let’s come to the Civic Hatchback’s engine and driving features.
The Civic Hatchback is imported to our country with two different engine alternatives, as 1.4-liter petrol engine and 1.6-liter diesel engine.
Both these engines can be purchased only by 6-speed manual gearbox.
Therefore, if you are thinking of buying the Civic Hatchback with an automatic gearbox,
unfortunately at the moment that option is not offered.
This, if you ask me, is the weakest point of the Civic Hatchback.
In the car that I have been driving 1.6-liter diesel engine is functioning.
It develops 120 HP and 300 Nm of torque and as I mentioned earlier possesses only 6-speed manual gearbox.
Although the engine works a bit listless just above idling rpm,
over 1500 rpm it acts responsive and offers a very good traction.
I frankly liked the engine’s performance a lot.
The gearbox with distinct paths and close-fitting transition has been adjusted just as the way the manual gearbox affectionate would like.
The suspensions have been set for sportive as well as for comfort.
The impact absorption of the shock absorbers are good, and with their silent configuration even on rough surfaces deserves praise.
The steering is sensitive and with its fast working structure provides you to have pleasure from the drive.
My only criticism is about the spoiler that covers half of the rear window.
Even when you look from the rear view mirror, to have the rear view too much restricted in my opinion is a big disadvantage.
Finally, let me talk about the fuel consumption you have impatiently been waiting.
I have been with the Civic Hatchback for a week and have covered approximately 400 km.
For this duration the trip computer indicates 5.5-liter fuel consumption average.
Even though I did not exert additional effort to economies, to me this 5.5-liter average fuel consumption value is quite good.
Of course, the Start&Stop system and economy mode was also beneficial in this.
The Start&Stop system works very quietly and successfully.
The economy mode is put into use by this green button beside the indicators.
Thus the engine’s throttle sensitivity is changed.
The system that encourages you to drive frugally is indicated by green, turquoise and blue colors on both sides of the speedometer.
The Honda Civic Hatchback, in my opinion, with its different design and successful driving features
and also with frugal engine, is among the assertive models of this class.
However, since no automatic gearbox option yet is offered in this engine, it decreases its appeal greatly.
But, if you still think of buying a diesel engine car with a manual gearbox anyway,
then I recommend that you should definitely consider the Civic Hatchback.
