Apply the thread sealant, present at the tip of the pipe plug to the pressure valve and
continuity connectors.
When grounding and pressurizing through opposite endplates, on the first endplate, install
the vented bond connector inboard of the endplate and torque to 50 to 70 in-lbs.
Attach the bond braid to the vented bond connector.
Install the keps nut and torque to 50 to 70 in-lbs.
Next, install the solid bond connector outboard of the endplate and torque to 50 to 70 in-lbs.
Install the external ground strap and secure with the flanged hex nut.
Torque to 50 to 70 in-lbs.
The external ground strap may be attached to the manhole ground.
Install the pressure valve onto the opposite endplate by first removing the cap, nut, and
washer and torque to 50 to 70 in-lbs.
Re-install the washer, nut, and cap.
When grounding and pressurizing through the same endplate, install the vented bond connector
inboard of the endplate and the pressure valve outboard.
Install the vented bond connector and torque to 50 to 70 in-lbs.
Attach the bond braid to the vented bond connector.
Install the keps nut and torque to 50 to 70 in-lbs.
Install the pressure valve onto the endplate by first removing the cap, nut, and washer
and torque to 50 to 70 in-lbs.
Install the external ground strap and secure using the washer and nut. Torque to 50 to
70 in-lbs.
Re-install the valve stem cap.
