Tell the big lie often enough and they'll believe it, right? Well, maybe not. What does
it mean to love someone? This is Doctor Paul, author of Boomer Girls: A Boomer Woman's Guide
to Men and Dating and host of Ask Doctor Paul. Well, what it means to love someone is doing
precisely the opposite. You can't tell the big lie and tell it often enough and expect
it to be believed because it won't be. Basically, it means you have to be absolutely straight
with that person, and if you're able to do that, without any obfuscation on your part,
then the probability is that you're there. You really need to understand that. Being
honest with yourself as well as with the other really gets the job done. It's not a wallpapering
over of anything. It's not a creating an image of anything. And too often people tend to
fool themselves. So be real and get real and be the person that you are and accept the
other for the person that they happen to be. That's exactly what it's all about. And when
you finally exercise that getting real factor, you will appreciate yourself and the other
a lot, lot more. This is Doctor Paul, may your fantasies of today be your realities
of tomorrow.
