Reid Working for Nevada
Sen. Reid meets with student who could benefit from DREAM Act
Why is the DREAM Act important to you?
Because it 's something that affects my life and
the lives of thousands of students in this country.
This bill could help us go to the university,
develop a career and be able to contribute fully
to the United States. I am able to be a spokesperson
for this issue because Sen. Chris Dodd introduced
a private bill for my brother and I. This way I can be
a voice for the students who are in the shadows.
I can go out into the public, talk to the media
and give these students a voice in Washington, DC
to advance the cause.
Why is the DREAM Act beneficial to the U.S.?
These students have grown up in the U.S.,
many from kindergarten to college-age.
So why not let them stay here and be professionals?
They could be doctors, lawyers, and other kinds of
professionals who stay here and contribute
to the country so the U.S. reaps the benefits,
not other countries.
