Hi, valuable viewers.
Don't you just hate it when you’re just casually browsing
random videos and you come across a video
whose creator you really like cause they seem like a
charming person, and you check out their channel and
watch more of their videos and you discover
that you’ve sat there binge watching all the content on
their channel and you kind of develop a crush on
them because of their looks and personality and
then you realize that they haven’t uploaded new videos
in months, and you start reading the
comments on their most uploads and find out
that they died of cancer?
It’s awful when that happens.
And then you get all depressed and you
feel like it ruined your whole year, and you go
and try to talk about it with people on forums or
online chat rooms and they tell you that death is part
of life and you have to accept it.
And then you start wondering whether you live in
the matrix and whether you’re the only one who is real
because you simply can’t comprehend the concept of
ceizing to exist forever, while everyone around you
seems either at peace with said idea or
not interested in thinking about it at all.
How can you people be so comfortable with the thought
of stopping to exist and rotting in the ground?
There’s nothing we can do to stop it.
Get the f out of here.
We can send images through the air and
can create fire at the flick of our fingers,
but can’t do anything about death?
That is ***.
Humanity, as a species, has its priorities so messed up
that if there’s a higher intelligent being out there,
it’s probably either laughing at us
or facepalming itself because of how stupid we are.
We all age and die.
We’ve been doing that for millennia.
Over the past century, medical science has begun
to understand a lot more about the process of aging,
the human cells, and the ways in which we can
stop or reverse that process and extend our lifespan.
We began to understand the basics of how to
create human organs in the laboratory by using stem
cells and whatnot...
We begun to understand how we could transfer
our consciousness into bodies made out of materials
with a lesser degree of transience.
We hold the embrio of immortality in our hands
and what do we do?
We waste billions of dollars to create weapons
to kill each other because we live in different sides
of the world and have different views about God?
We waste billions of dollars to create gigantic
telescopes to watch parts of the universe that we have
no way of accessing with our current technology?
We waste billions of dollars to create movies
that offer us a few minutes or hours of entertainment?
But we need to have charitable organizations that
ask people to donate money to research for cures for
AIDS, polio, ebola, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, ASL,
cancer, and so many other illnesses?
We haven’t figured out how to
eradicate the *** common cold yet?
We don’t know why we’re here, we don’t know
if there’s anything following our physical death,
but we do know that there are ways to increase
longevity. Why are we not focusing all our money
on researching that?!
Wait, wait, wait, wait...
Let me ask you something: why do we need to fund
medical research in the first place?
What is more important than life?
Go ahead. Tell me one thing
that is more important than life.
I’ll wait.
If you said... anything at all during those
five seconds of silence, you’re wrong!
You’re *** wrong!
There is nothing more important than life.
Not money, not honor, not beliefs, not culture.
Nothing.
Medical science is the only thing in the world that
can prolong human life.
You’d think that a rational society would
understand that medical research should be as free as
the air we breath.
What kind of rational guverment places medicine at the
same level as war, tourism, arts, sports
and every other nonsense that contributes with nothing
to our survival?
Am I the only one who sees the absurdity of this?
You have to pay for health care?
You have to work to make sure you produce the
conventionally accepted currency that will determine
other people to help you live in case you're sick,
despite the fact that they have the knowledge,
the skills and the utensils to do it for free?
You have to pay for something that is beyond your
control. How did we come to have such a
*** up mentality and such as messed up
social organizational system?!
We’re a relatively intelligent species.
We could have thought up social systems that
would have been a lot more productive and logical,
so why did we reach this point?
Huawei recently released a video commercial to
promote one of their latest Android smartphones
and it caught my attention, which is surprising
because I generally dismiss commercials for cellphones
that run on that *** operating
system created by Google.
But this one caught my attention because it
ran as a video ad while I was watching the video of
a YouTuber whose content I enjoy and I like
to support the content creators that entertain me
by watching their video ads and not using Adblock.
They put time and effort into their videos
especially for you, so you can spare a
few extra-seconds to watch an ad.
Anyways, I’m digressing.
This Huawei ad caught my attention because
it said that the world is imperfect,
but there are a few humans who work really hard
to look at imperfections and see possibilities.
The ad concludes with the statement:
" the world is not perfect, but we’re working on it ".
Really, Huawei?
By making a *** cellphone slimmer?
Is that how you're working on making the word perfect?
Are sending nudes on snapchat and posting selfies
on Instagram really at the top of our pyramid
of priorities right now?!
Cause, I don’t know, I was thinking that
finding cures for diseases and tweaking genetics to
increase longevity and creating artificial bodies in which
to transplant our brains would be at the top of our
‘to do list’ as a species, not finding ways to make
smartphones look slicker and have... nicer looking icons
or whatever.
You *** morons.
Working on making the world better.
You’re wasting money, that’s what you’re doing.
You’re wasting money that could be invested
in supporting brilliant minds that come up with ideas
for new cures.
*** you and your phones.
I don’t want a thinner smartphone model.
I want a world in which people don’t
have to be poisoned to the brink of death with
chemotherapy in order to attempt to cure their cancer.
I don’t want a new Android version.
I want a world in which we can understand enough
about the human brain as to find ways to
stop Alzheimer's, schizophrenia, depression, anxiety,
ocd, bipolar disorder, and so many more.
I don’t want to know that there’s a planet out
there, millions of light years away that could possibly
be inhabitable.
I want a planet Earth on which we
have found out why we are here,
what our purpose is,
what happens after we die.
We kill each other because we disagree about what
happens in the afterlife, but we don't even know if
there’s an afterlife in the first place.
It makes one wonder: what the *** is wrong with us?
And once we’ve established what is wrong with us,
how can we fix it?
