Hey everyone, it's Alessandro, and I'm here with Matt Foster, Category Director
at Safariland.
Matt is here today to talk to us about some of the new
weapon accessories we're going to see from Safariland in 2012, so
Matt just go ahead and take it away. Thank you.
This year we introduced our first
pull through style cleaning kit, it's got some really great features it's
something we haven't had in the line previously.
So obviously the benefits is, if the gun's got a closed receiver or if you
don't feel like disassembling your AR-15
you can simply thread this through the breach and of course clean your
weapon by pulling the cable through, no cleaning rod required.
One of the things that makes this kit unique is that we integrated the patch
holder into the cable.
So
you don't actually have to take the patch holder out of the case and put it on
the cable to start using it. Simply take the cable out,
put a patch in,
and start cleaning your weapon.
When you want to add the brush,
the brush itself also has a patch holder so you can actually use two brushes, err
two patches at one time.
So what we do is actually soak both patches with solvent and it basically
doubles your cleaning power and puts solvent in front of the brush as it's
coming through
and comes back and removes the debris
loosened by the brush with this other patch, So it works really great.
We have a number of models available basically to cover every caliber you might need
has utility brush, which we also put these bristles right here
to get down the recess to clean your charging handle area, ok.
So that's also been real popular.
Has a T-handle for improved grip on the cable as you use it, which also
has
a little carbon scraper on the end so you can get the carbon out of your locking
lugs and so forth.
So we make it for most calibers basically .223 all the way
through twelve-gauge
and comes of course with Break-Free
CLP
as our bore cleaning solvent and lubricant preservative
and it's all contained in a molded,
EVA molded case so provides
some rigidity. It provides some protection for the components and
it's nice and compact and easy to throw in a bag and carry.
Cool, let's talk a little bit about this, the scope mount you got over here.
Ok.
This is a scope mount that we developed in conjunction with our
competition shooters, our team Safariland folks.
It's just a real good solid quality scope mount, it's skeletonized to
reduce weight and yet without sacrificing strength.
It's made with strued aluminum, 6061 and one nice feature though is
that we actually bothered to come back and radius the corners rather than
simply just, you know, lop it off and leave the sharp corners to ding into your
gear and basically no snag as well.
This has the mil spec thumb knobs which have the anti vibration
washers in the back
the cross bolts, we've milled them flat so that you have a flat surface
against a flat surface in that picatinny rail, not a round surface
which will suede aluminum sometimes.
The coating that we're using is actually sero coat for both the black and flat
dark earth
and it's available in obviously a sight designed for telescopic scope you
know, one to four, one to six, or whatever you choose.
Straight up-and-down ring for like an Aimpoint Comp M and then of
course the cantelievered model for running all of your night vision magnifiers and that
sort of thing.
MSRP on this is
$129.95,
$89, and $99, so made the US, made in the Safariland
brand
and so far they've worked out really well for us.
Ok, and you have an estimated time frame for availability for this? These are available now.
As are the kits, so these are available now.
Let's talk about the stocks. The last new thing is, this is
actually in customer response for the longest time, basically our stocks were
black
as you can tell by our by our armor selection.
A lot of departments and of course consumers are now
using colors other than black obviously particularly the
desert motif is kind of popular these days so
we decided to do it both in the A-TACS and the Multi-Cam. And of course the Multi-Cam is
what the Army has gone to so this on a shotgun
whether you choose to coat the receiver and barrel or not quite frankly
looks really really good.
So and of course one of the most popular colors is the flat
dark earth.
For your basic models we've got them available for the
Remington 870 the Remington 1100, 1187 and the
Mossberg 500.
Okay and are those those available now? Those are also available now.
Okay, great, so a lot of cool weapon accessories out now from Safariland, be sure to check them out. Matt
Thank you for your time. Thank you, I appreciate it very much.
