Sep 24 1966, Jimi Hendrix touches down in London with manager Chas Chandler on a flight
from New York City. Jimi arrived with only the clothes he was wearing. One of the first
things he does after arriving in England is to legally change his name from James to Jimi.
Sep 25 1954, Elvis Presley's second single on Sun Records, 'Good Rockin' Tonight,' is
released. The Roy Brown song was first made popular in 1948 by Wynonie Harris.

Sep 27 1986: Bob Dylan performs for Pope John Paul II at Bologna, Italy's World Eucharistic
Congress. During the event, The Pope delivered an address to the young people of Bologna,
in which he used Bob Dylan's song "Blowin' In The Wind" as a reference point.
Sep 28 2011, Tony Bennett became the oldest living person to top the US album chart when
the 85-year-old's 'Duets II' album went to No.1. The record was also his first US No.1
in his 60 year career. The previous oldest performer to top the chart was Bob Dylan in
2009 with 'Together Through Life'. At the time he was 67-years old.
Sep 29 2002, American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson began a two-week stay at No.1 on the US singles
chart with 'A Moment Like This.'
