One of the primary benefits, definitely if you're studying a language is the absolute, boom and understanding that language
what I liked best about my classes was that they were in Spanish
for me that was really important
thats why I chose Salamanca because I really wanted to be immersed in the Spanish language
Every class I took, all my professors were extremely knowledgeable
they could talk about the subject you were taking for hours
it was non-stop
They’re very interactive, they're very upbeat
very involved in classroom learning
I found them funny
they were just very good overall teachers that was the most important part
what was really cool was I took an art context class
so here as a p5 you'd be learning about paintings out of a book
but we actually went on sites to museums or other historical things like
so I thought that was really cool
and you were able to learn more
and it was more fun than just reading out of a text book

What I liked best was that I had the opportunity to meet people from all over the world
in my classroom I had kids from Brazil
from Germany, from Venezuela
so that was really cool cause you don’t really get the opportunity at Fisher to meet foreign students
Growing up, maturing you’re able to communicate with people who aren’t used to doing the same things as you
You know, not only am I in London, there is people from all over the world living in London
You get to learn how to deal with people you wouldn’t normally associate with
so it’s like cultural awareness
and just meeting and dealing with new people and new situations
So coming back here and any job that I foresee getting in the future
I’m going to build off what I learned there
whether it be networking skills, whether it be adapting culturally
to whatever environment I’m in, and most importantly working with people who may not share the same ideas, beliefs and kind of work habits I do

I think it makes you more an independent person
you really learn to depend on just yourself especially when you’re a thousand miles away from home
in a country where no one speaks your language
I had an unpaid internship in a foreign setting
so really I matured I learned a lot about life skills

Most students will leave excited and anticipating learning new things
but when you come home you look at everything differently
you look at how you eat as a family
you look at how you interact with friends
and just other culture things that you do
in compare them to what you do over in wherever you were
So my senora her husband and her son would always eat lunch with my roommate and I
and we would talk about our day
and what our plans were for the rest of our day or if we had plans for the weekend
and then we would have siesta so my roommate and I would just hangout in our room
or sometimes go to the park and just relax with our friends we had met
{Music}
I think other fisher students should study abroad just cause is a great opportunity
its once in a lifetime it’s like now is the time to travel
it’s like before really getting into our jobs, but your still, you’re not a kid anymore but you can do these things on your own
and this is the best time to do it
I would tell anyone that’s interested in studying abroad, do it, just do it , just plain do it
it was the best 4 months of my life
Just do it, don’t be afraid, I mean you are afraid, I was afraid, everyone’s afraid
but you’re going to come back so happy you did it
and just so grateful for that experience
I would say hands down just do it
it’s going to be the scariest moment of your life when you get on that plane and go
but you’re not going to want to get back on and come home
{All talking at once} you just have to do it, just do it, do it, it will be the best experience of your life by far, go abroad
I say definitely do it, you’ll have no regrets, ever
you’ll want to go back for sure
