Let's say I want to save the whole webpage to evernote.
In this case all I have to do is to use the everwebclipper bookmarklet, it switches me
to the EverWebClipper app and here I can select how I want to clip the webpage.
I'm just going to tap save and it switches me back to safari and starts clipping in the
background... ok so we got a notification that says that
it has clipped the webpage. Let's go Evernote to see how it looks.
Here is the page that I've just clipped. You know, in some cases you want to clip the whole
webpage, instead of just the article. And as you can see we got pretty much everything,
it preserved the style. I can also clip just the article.
In this case I'm going use EverWebClipper bookmarklet again, I'm going to to select
mobilizer setting... Here. Then choose Instapaper and tap save.
Let's see how the result looks in evernote. As you an see the title in the upper area
is kinda messy here. But you can still read the title as the title of the note, so it's
not a big deal. Other than that it clipped the article perfectly and it looks really
good. And I just wanted to show that you can also
clip the article without any additional apps or bookmarklets by tapping on the reader button...
Here... then tapping on the arrow... Here... and then tapping mail this article and sending
it to your Evernote email address. And in case you don't know, you can look up
the Evernote email address in the Evernote settings, Evernote email address.
Now let me show you how to clip some certain part of a webpage.
I find the most convenient way to do it is to just copy something and then send it to
evernote by email. So for example if I want to clip this sentence
to Evernote,I select it, tap copy, tap on the arrow, tap on the mail this article, enter
my Evernote email address, paste and send. I find this to be the most convenient way
but you can also use the everwebclipper app to do the same thing.
In order to do that with the everwebclipper app you want to enable background monitoring.
Here is the option, you want to turn it on. So here is how it's going to work, tap on
copy, you get a notification, tap the notification, switches you to EverWebClipper app and then
you can save whatever you've copied to Evernote by tapping on save.
I don't really like this because I don't want to see a notification to switch to EverWebClipper
app each time I copy something. Most of the time when I copy something, I don't want to
save it to Evernote and the notification just gets annoying.
How to setup the the EverWebClipper app. Here's the everwebclipper app.
In the left part of the screen you can select how you want to clip the current webpage to
Evernote and in the right part of the screen you can setup the default settings.
You can set up "return to browser" immediately or after clipping or never. I prefer to keep
it immediately. Then you can select which browser to switch
to, you can choose safari, chrome, or opera mini.
And I'm using safari. You can select which notebook it's going to
go to, which tags it's going to have. You can select the default "clip style". You
can choose either simple or styled or only URL. If you select simple then it will clip
the webpage but it's not going to preserve the original style of the page. If you select
styled then it's going to preserve the original webpage style as much as possible. I prefer
the styled setting. How to add EverWebClipper bookmarklet to Safari.
To actually use the app you want to add its bookmarklet to safari. To do that tap add
bookmarklet for safari, tap on copy&open in safari, bookmark this page, add bookmark,
let's say you're going to name it as webclipper. Save it, then edit it and replace the URL
with the bookmarklet. Basically just paste because the bookmarklet code is already in
your clipboard. Ok so there you go, hope this helped and thanks
for watching!
