>>Announcer This is a production of Temple University
[Knocking on door and greeting] >>Brian My name is Brian Maher and I'm an
RA at Temple Towers. Being an RA is a 24/7 job but it's awesome. We're here when they
want to have fun, we're here when they have struggles going on. We're always doing something
to reach out to our residents. >>Aisha We're kind of like the eyes and ears
of the building. [Hey guys! Hi]
>>Aisha I've in the past made sure that some of my residents looked cute for their first
dates or was dressed appropriately for an interview. We also deal with things like roommate
conflicts, making sure that people know how to live together in such a small space.
>>Licinia I need someone to talk to. That's what the R.A. is about; is to be someone there
to assist that resident at that time of need. >>Instructor For those of you who are new
this is the R.A. advisory board. This is the opportunity for the R.A.'s to come together
and share the issues that they're seeing in the halls.
>>Licinia Starting when they get hired, they get a lot of information, support and resources.
The R.A. cannot be defined by one personality. They are real individuals. They make you laugh.
They are so excited and passionate about the position, abou the students, about living
here at Temple. >>Student Thank you for uh getting the door
when we locked ourselves out probably about a dozen times.
>>Brian They really appreciate everything I do because I appreciate them wanting to
be here and making my experience special and so I hope that's kind of reciprocated.
>>Aisha I'm excited for the rest of my senior year. It's going to be really hard to leave
Temple now that I'm so connected to the University this way, so, yeah.
