Today's recipe for Suji ka Halwa is very easy to make and a huge favorite among all.
Ingredients required:
Suji (semolina) - 1/2 cup
Sugar - a bit more than 1/2 cup or as you desire
Ghee - 1/3 cup
Almonds - 8 to 10
Cashew nuts - 10 to 12
Raisins - 1 tbsp
Elaichi (cardamom) - 4 (peel and crush)
Turn on the gas and heat pan.

Now put Suji in the Ghee
and roast Suji till it turns brown while stirring continuously.
Suji should not stick to the bottom of the pan.
Roast the Suji some more on a low flame till it turns dark brown.
On a low flame add water to the roasted Suji.
As we have taken 1/2 cup Suji we will put 4 times more water in it.
Now add sugar
and cook Suji on a medium flame till the sugar dissolves and Suji puffs in the water.

Stir Halwa as Suji seems to have puffed and cook some more till it becomes thick.
Put the pieces of cashew nuts and almonds that you have cut into the Halwa followed by raisins.
Then add Elaichi powder and mix well.
Put Ghee as well when Ghee is put later Halwa looks smooth and good.
Turn off the gas.
Garnish Halwa with the remaining cashew nuts.
Suji ka Halwa is ready, it does not consume much cooking time.
If you have unexpected guests at your place, cook Halwa and serve. Or
if you feel like having something sweet then prepare Suji ka Halwa.
