Treaty of Waitangi principles will be recognised
in the legislation being drawn up to partially sell state assets.
That's been made clear by John Key today.
Mr Key says the government's 51% shareholding in the assets
will abide by a requirement to consult Maori
but the private ownership of up to 49% won't be.
He says that's the elegant solution he's been talking about all along.
One of the Urewera Four told the Auckland High Court today
that they were aware they were being filmed in 2007.
Wellington Police attempted to secretly film Emily Bailey,
one of the Urewera Four, at a protest in Wellington in 2007.
But they had no images of Emily Bailey at the protest.
They also had Urs Signer under surveillance in Wellington.
Tame Iti, Emily Bailey, Te Rangikaiwhiria Kemara and Urs Signer
are charged with illegal possession of firearms
and participation in an organised criminal group.
They have pleaded not guilty.
