Why a partnership between Color Sound and Soonvibes?
The goal of this partnership with Color Sound
is to propose a lot of professionnal and objective feedbacks for young music creators
who want to improve their creations, especially on mixing and sound design.
That’s why we’ve decided to work with Color Sound
which is specialized in these fields and thus provide professional feedbacks to the Soonvibes community.
Our goal is to improve our service
and by that, we hope it’ll help Soonvibes artists improving too their productions
Introduce us Color Sound Studio
Our collaborations are consequent, since it's been a long time we’re working with a lot of artists.
It's important to notice we’re working as well with the young home producer
as famous artist as David Guetta which we've worked with in a very spontaneous and pleasant way,
and also with independant underground labels. Thanks to those several references,
we can share our experiences to great artists
as well as young ones, which will become famous later, I hope.
This metling-pot is really good
because we're not trapped in a ghetto for only one music style, or budget or artist.
We apply the same price for everybody, this is very important for us because
everyone can benefit from our experiences
We’ve a rather consequent visibility, I can’t talk about all artists, I’ll forget some of them.
No favoritism for one artist or an other.
On Color Sound website, we’ve included a lot of our references.

and the artist will benefit from a complete mastering by stems at Color Sound Studio.
For the others ten creations

they'll have the possibility to receive a detailed feedback on their work.

The first question that we settled is to know what it can bring to us?
So we've take a look at the beta version of Soonvibes.
We don’t want to fall in the ghetto « only electronic music », it’s important for us.
There is a whole part of french producers who do not know our studio
There is a only few mastering studios for certain urban music
and with an analogic stems offer.
Soonvibes can bring us relations with amateur producers who need this kind of prestation.
This prestation constist to make a mix at home,
then we separate and mastering each part of it.
It bring a big potential to the track, which is then able to be play in club.
It's an opportunity for a very talented music producer but which is unable to mastering its tracks.
We are aware we already have a renown but many producers don't know us yet. So we thought Soonvibes is a great concept.
Bring a pro feedback to a amateur is very rare and for us this idea worth to take a look.
What advice would you give to a young producer?
The advices, it's the most difficult, the most delicate party
the advice part is only technical
We don't judge the artistic part
for the young producers who are the target of this kind of partnership
and people who are going to upload their music on this kind of website (Soonvibes or an other)
Always the good choice of elements
it's not easy to explain, it's like cooking
always the good elements since the beginning, the good market
the realisation of the mix, the "dish" depends of the "food"
for a young producer, there is no magic
Even, the good mixer with the good mastering tools
if since the beginning it's not very good, we only work
with a fig-leaf, it's a gold rule
so we put the track at an high volume
More than 80% of our customers ask us to put the volume high
It's not because it's strong that is good !
On the contrary, more it's strong, less it's good
We always say it
and to make listen the difference to the young producers
and to the most talented which don't know it
We're making démos, learning and listening to the peoples
Educate as good as possible towards the good way of the music
the listening systemes at home aren't good
I thunk that is going better with time
The producer in research of advices can be shocked by all theses informations
We learnt ourselves, nobody learnt us
and some studios swindled us
With florent we speak as if it was our projects
We haven't the chance to meet sincere people
We often begin a mastering
and not be able to finish it, because technically we can't do it
producer said that is very good,
Because after 3 mastering sessions the level is rising up
Or the producer come back and we work with stems
It's like a recip, the elements of departure are very important
We catch up nothing after
it's like strong sauces, hot pepper, garlic
It is to give a flavor. The real taste is not there
How to well prepare a mastering and what is its interet?
We treat the main sound families
We work with 8 analogic stems
We set all types of music
The alone bass drum, the rest of the rhythmic (so 2 tracks).
the third is for the bass
The fourth is for the voices
The fifth is for synthesizer if we talk about electronic music
Or guitars or every type of keyboards
A track FX for the noises and the effects
I need a reference mix with all the stems
Even if it was masterised at home, it gives us an idea of the final depiction
The sound level of each stems is very important
We need nothing on each stems, no high volume
But the producer create it own effects, we don't touch this
We can do a little sidechain but it's technically, not artistic
It is easier to add than to remove
If there is a lack of bass, don't be afraid
If the stems level is down, don't be afraid too, it give us a margin
We work with the 24bit-44 witch is a classical format
We can do highter mais we work better with this kind of format
We manage all stems in analog
For the stems, we start with 8 tracks
We send the tracks in the analog part
The converter gives a very great analog color to the stems
After, we send the steams in each machine
This is the first treatment, type of analog mixer
We send it in an analog sommator, it works as an analog mixer
This is the problem of actual softwares
Then we work in stereo, it's like if we've a "funnel studio"
Then we finish in a stereo mastering
We no controle all the process but at least in a methodical way
So we can manage some problems like "kick-bass"
The most frequent and the stronger problem at home-studio
I think i've said how it works
The best result for the musics which need a strong level
Keep a little of dynamic but with a high level
and we hear the drums, we have less this crushed effect from some plugs
Or when it's badly work at home, because we can do some interesting things at home
We work better with analog, but we work also with some little plugs
We use the best of digital and analog
