Kheer is a very delicious dessert
Today I'm going to make Gur ki Kheer
Lets see the ingredients required for making Gur ki Kheer
For making Gur ki Kheer
Boiled Rice - 2 cups
Gur (Jaggery) - 1 cup
Black Cardamom - 2
Cashew nuts - 8 cut into halves
Almonds - 8 , sliced
Coconut - 2 inch , sliced
Milk - 1/2 litre, full cream
Clarified Butter (Desi Ghee) - 2 tablespoon
Lets start making Gur ki Kheer
Heat ghee (clarified butter) in a pan
Now we will fry cashew nuts in this oil
Oil is heated, now put cashew nuts into it
Cashew nuts are fried
Pour the renaming oil in a kadhai (wok) and turn on the flame
Add boiled rice into kadhai (wok)
Saute the rice
Add 1/4 cup milk to this
Add Jaggery (gur)
Mix jagerry in the rice
Jaggery is mixed in the rice
Now add about half of the milk
First we have added about half of the milk
Now add the remaining milk
Cook the kheer till milk is creamy and reduced to about half
Keep stirring often to ensure the milk does not burn
Kheer is cooked on low flame
It is getting thick
I have added 1 cup (100 gm) Jaggery to it
You can adjust it according to your taste
Kheer is reduced, now we will add coconut chips to it
Peel and crush the black cardamom
Now add this crushed black cardamom to kheer
Add almonds
Kheer is ready, turn off the heat
As kheer cools off, it will become thicker in texture
Now turn the kheer in a serving bowl
Garnish with cashew nuts and almonds
Gur ki Kheer is very delicious
You can serve it hot in winters with lunch or dinner
