Hi, it’s Steve from PartSelect. Today we’re going to show you how to change a rack holder
on your microwave. It’s a really easy job; all we’re going to need is a pair of slip
joint pliers. Let me show you how we do it.
Now to do this repair we need to open up the door to the microwave and we’ll want to
remove the rack, set that aside.
Now the rack holders are a twist and turn type of fastening device so we’ll want to
try and turn that counter clockwise about 90 degrees. You may need a pair of pliers
to do that and you may be able to turn it with your hand. Once you have it exactly 90
degrees you should be able to wiggle that out of the slot that it fits into, and you
can see that it has a t-shaped end on it that fits into a corresponding slot on the interior
cavity.
Now we simply take the new holder, line it up facing the back wall of the oven, push
it in firmly as far in as it will go and then turn it clockwise. For that you may need a
pair of pliers; a soft jaw on the pliers is advisable so that we don’t mark it up any.
We want to take extra care. There just turn it 90 degrees so that it sits level with the
rest of them.
We’ll reinstall the rack, and our repair is complete.
We told you it was an easy job. Thanks for watching, and good luck with your repair.
