Did you know that the Gyrotonics system was developed by ballet dancer Juliu Horvath, who performed with the New York City Opera and Houston Ballet?
Dancers across the world today still supplement their fitness regimen with Gyrotonics.
Photographer Jesus Chapa-Malacara has created a truly stunning new series, “Dance Prints: Humans Slicing Through Space”.
Taking long-exposure photographs, he captures the strength, effort, and grace that goes into the execution of each move.
The images exclusively feature ballerinas and breakdancers, creating a really interesting juxtaposition of style.
Chapa-Malacara himself was a dancer and says that the goal was to highlight the beauty not just in the poses, but in the moments between them.
This sketch video by Robert Hoffman was released about a month ago, and has reached over 2 million views.
No wonder here though, it’s hilarious!
The descriptions are so clever: "The blind man"- That's my favorite one!
When they perform the full routine at the end, it's actually accurate to today’s contemporary trend.

A tragic accident occurred this week at DanceWorks Chicago.
During a rehearsal break, a large steel acrobatic ring fell on dancer Marco Antonio Huicochea Gonzalez.
He suffered severe trauma to his head and his injuries proved to be fatal.
Marco had studied previously with Ballet Hispanico and was a scholarship recipient of the National Fund for Culture and Arts.
Please keep Marco’s family, friends, and fellow dancers in your thoughts during this incredibly difficult time.

My song pick is One Direction’s “Story of my life”.
These kids are just so talented. When I first heard this song on the radio I was dying, it's so good!
I don't know why I'm always surprised when I find out it’s One Direction.
I use it for my junior improv class at conventions and all of the dancers sing along and jam out to it!
Tell us what do you use it for?
That’s right, Disney fans -- a stage adaptation of Aladdin will hit the Broadway stage this year.
The show is being directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, best known for his choreography for
The Drowsy Chaperone, Monty Python’s Spamalot, and The Book of Mormon.
The production is scheduled to open in March, so it won’t be long til you can get your magic carpet fix!
