BR: Guys, first thing just to let you know... Thank god you can't feel the heat through YouTube because we turned off the air conditioner for this recording and it's hot as f*uck in here.
AF: Hi, guys. / BR: Hey, folks. / AF: I'm Andy Ferreira. / BR: And I'm Breno Ronchini. / AF: And we're here to today to release a new project called montu,
that tries to mix rock 'n roll and blues-rock with electronic music, genre that Breno, who is a keyboardist and synthesist, has been studying lately.
We've got some new gear that allows for real time loop management, that's essencial for live performances of this style, and we started recording very spontaneously.
We've come up with a bunch of cool material out of what was suposed to be a non-pretentious encounter that ended up being the dawn of a new project. / BR: Oh, my god!!
AF: And this is the video that starts and lauches this new project to the public, so, hope you like it!!
BR: I invited this guy over the day the project was born just to play some randomness. We plugged his guitar in line with a FX processor of his, / AF: A TC Electronic Nova System, that I enjoy pretty much. /
BR: in my laptop in the middle of the living room and that was it. We started playing and everything came out from scratch, from guitar riffs to drum loops, coming up with all the arrangements on the fly.
And this helps a lot to trigger such loops, with no mouse clicking. / AF: And it has lights. / BR: I don't own the right to this sound, it belongs to Jem Godfrey, composer of the band Frost*.
AF: Frost* is one of the bands that heavily influence the project, along with 65DaysOfStatic and a bunch of other EDM groups. So, that's it and I hope you like it. This is montu. / BR: Cya'll later!!
BR: It triggers the light but doesn't trigger the sound!!
