If you've seen Office Space, then you'll know about its famous (or is that infamous?) printer
smashing scene. It's a cathartic scene, especially if you've spent any extended amount of time
in an office environment, but what if you could take things even further than the printer?
Smash the Office isn't a title that seeks to ensconce players in a deep and thoughtful
world. No, you get 60 seconds to smash up everything you can in an effort to score points
and earn coins so you can do it again.
After completing a short tutorial you're unleashed in to an endless series of rooms filled with
office equipment and a bat. The isometric view lets you visually take in each area in
an instant, so you can scour it for all the generous bonuses such as computer monitors
or printers. Power-ups also occasionally appear, giving you boost ranging from coin multipliers
to freezing time for a short period.
And really, that's all there is to it. You jump in, you smash things up as best as possible
and when you're out of time you'll collect the coins and points for your high-score attempt.
If you happen to have enough coins you can also activate a one-off boost, making it even
easier to beat your last attempt.
This is snack-sized gaming reduced to a mouthful. It's a tasty mouthful and you're sure to take
a few extra bites if you're having a bad day, but beyond the delightfully amusing presentation
there's very little keeping you coming back for more.
