Today on our 2013 Hyundai Elantra well be installing the Curt hitch, part number C11097.
Next well go ahead and give you a couple of measurements to assist you when selecting
accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer most edge
of the bumper is four and a quarter inches. From the top of the receiver tube to the ground
is 10 and a half inches. This will assist you when selecting accessories such as a bike
rack or cargo carrier. First before we can install our hitch well need to lower the exhaust.
Remove the two rubber isolators by using some spray lubricant and our pry bar. Now with
our exhaust lowered well go ahead and remove the heat shield here on the passenger side
by removing the five fasteners that secure the heat shield. Now that the heat shield
is down and out of the way you can see that it gives us access to the rubber plug in the
frame which will also be our attachment point. Next well move over to the drivers side and
remove the under body trim panel and fasteners. Well go ahead and set the panels and fasteners
aside as they will not be reinstalled.
