My name is Bob McCan, I own Iron Gate Antiques and we're located in Bluemont Virginia.
We take a lot of family pieces that are in really bad shape, and we basically restore
them and repair them to where it's just like they were the day that they came out of either
the factory or out of a craftsman's shop.
We strip, refinish, sand, and everything is done by hand. It's a long, drawn out, complicated
process, but its something we take a lot of great pride in. Because the fact that we are
dealing with a lot of family heirlooms, and we are able to give them back something that
they're totally blown away with it.
Cecil has been with Iron Gate going on almost 39 years. He's an amazing craftsman. Does
museum quality work. I have yet to see him stumped on repairing anything.
Iron Gate's got a great reputation here in the Shenandoah Valley. Iron Gate's been around
for almost 40 years, and it's very well known to the locals.
We do take your piece and completely restore it to where it was like the day it was made.
And we do that with a lot of care and patience because we treat the pieces like they are
ours.
Uh, my house is full of antiques and I'm very proud of all of those, and about ninety percent
of those were restored by Iron Gate Antiques.
It's, it's very hard to match in this area what we do. I basically tell people we do,
uh, Tiffany work at Walmart prices.
