Hi.
I'm Max Dalton, and in this video I'm going to talk through how to set up Do Not Disturb
on Xbox One model consoles.
Sometimes you just want to be left alone when you're playing video games.
You don't want to hear a ding or see a new message icon when someone messages you, you
don't want to be alerted to chat invites, and you could care less that someone is now
online.
If you just want to play video games without being bothered by other people and bombarded
by alerts, you can do that by placing yourself in Do Not Disturb mode.
Putting yourself in this mode changes your status for other people to see to Busy, and
mutes all on-screen displays and notifications that aren't associated with the game you're
playing or app that you're interacting with.
And now, let's walk through how to put yourself in Do Not Disturb mode on your Xbox One console.
Step 1.
Work your way to your Xbox One home screen if you're not there already.
Highlight your gamertag and gamerpic in the upper left corner of the screen, and then
press "A" on the controller.
A menu appears, flying in from the left side of the screen.
Step 2.
Move the left analog stick all the way to the left side of the screen to select your
gamerpic on on the far left side of the row of menu options.
Highlight the row directly beneath Sign In that includes your real name, your gamertag,
and your gamerpic, and then press "A." A menu associated with your profile appears.
Step 3.
Highlight "Appear Offline" in the list of menu options, and then press "A." A sub-menu
appears where you can select Appear Online, Appear Offline, or Do Not Disturb.
Step 4.
Choose "Do Not Disturb" in the sub menu.
You'll immediately see your status beneath your gamertag at the top of the menu change
to read Do Not Disturb.
Now, when users check your profile on Xbox Live, they'll see that you have a status of
Busy rather than Online.
Congratulations!
You now know how to change your Xbox Live status to Do Not Disturb.
Thanks for watching.
