Really?
You're over 50 and you haven't had a screening for colon cancer?
There is no reason not to have one
I did go for my colon screening which I am glad that I did.
People make it seem like it's just a terrible thing to do.
It was nothing at all and everyone should do it.
It gives you peace of mind.
I did have polyps a couple times so they removed them
and they suggested I go all the time, every 3 to five years
to have them checked and I always do
My mother had a colon cancer screening and it saved her life
I mean I was in my 40's when it happened to me so
just get screened
I'm a physician myself. I make sure I have regular colonoscopies
and I recommend them to all my patients
I had a colonoscopy when I was approximately 50 years of age.
My doctor screened me for colon cancer
and I think everyone should get one because there really helpful
in determining wheather you are going to have cancer or not
you definitly need them because if you don't do it you are gonna end up worse off
When you look at the consequences of avoiding something like that
it's well worth the process
It's just prevention, it could save your life
It's not really that difficult a thing to go through
there is really no pain involved, it's just a little time out of your day that's all
It's men and women so no one is immune from colon cancer, that's for sure
and people make a big deal out of colonoscopies like it's so terrible
most of the colonoscopy you are so relaxed on medication
you almost don't really even know where you are. It's essentially painless, it really is.
The relief I got for knowing that I was cancer free was a blessing
You reach a certain age and you really need to start taking care of yourself.
and be careful of everything that goes on in your body
You need to be in tune with it. Like I said, I survived the colon screening
and it was nothing, actually it was a nice sleep I had.
This is a message from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health
