You know who loses weight - sick people lose
weight. People who live in war lose weight.
People who have deep grief lose weight.
so losing weight is it necessarily
good. a lot of you say in your head
when I lose weight then
I'll meet the perfect partner, then I can get a better job.
You're not starting your life and pursuing your dreams today
because you think you have to lose weight
tomorrow. And that your dreams are on hold till then.
You think the only way to lose weight
is - if I could only join a gym - if I had more money and could join a gym -
I talk to the universe and turn the 24-hour day
into a 29-hour day so I could go to the gym.
then I could lose weight. You think that losing weight can only be done
by the way that you thought you would lose weight when you were eight years
old or 15 or 17 or 19.
Does any of it work?
Is any of it true? is your life better simply for wanting to lose weight
and then if you can't go to a gym - don't make more money -
can't run eight miles a day - can't afford new sneakers -
don't have time -have to wait till the kids go to college - until you can lose
weight...
Is any this line of thinking positive?
proactive? Does losing weight
mean being healthy? does it mean
having a better positive state of mind?
being a more focused? organized person?
No. It
is all self defeating and your mind is just going around and around and around.
And your esteem and your confidence are going
down, down. If you have a desire
to be healthier, to reduce stress,
to be calmer, to eat closer to nature,
to give up junk food, to stop eating chemicals,
to have a clean kitchen, to prepare your own
foods -all these will bring you to health
and clarity and support your dreams and goals.
And create a healthy
home and family and community. I wanna ask you a favor -
every time your mind
says, or your mouth says - if I could lose weight, when I lose weight
if I could get to the gym, if I had an extra hour if... I want you to replace
that with - the thought - I want to get healthy
and I cant start today 1
step, 1 task, 1
meal, 1 breath at a
time. Value who you
are right now and take
care of this person just as you would take care
your grandmother, your child
your beloved pet, just as you would take care
of anyone in need who needs love.
